Nascar has always been a family sport with fathers passing on their talent to their sons, and brother racing brother. A twist took place opening week this year.
This week, former quarter midget female driver of the year, Erin Crocker realized her dream when she qualified for the Nascar Craftsman Truck Series in her Mom's truck. Mom, Betty, said that since Erin was always taking the truck without permission, she decided to put here name on it in big bold letters.
Or maybe Betty just decided that it was time that Erin shared the spotlight.
Although the temperture at Daytona was cool, Erin said it was "hot enough to bake a cake" inside the cab.
Erin started 24th and finished 27th.
