When separated from an addiction, a person may resort to running around in a circle making car noises. That is, if they are a NASCAR fan. Devoted NASCAR fans suffer during the three months of off-season. Silly Season, a term meant to describe ongoing changes in NASCAR, really reflects the period when fans go insane. To be ripped away from a nine month habit and thrown into three months of silence, one would surely experience withdrawal that borders on the edge of depression. It is not easy to claw your way out of such a state, because what is needed is out of reach. A cure for NASCAR withdrawal is not known, but some steps can help stop the shakes and keep one partly occupied until the start of a new season.
