The Pit Road Post has never been one to miss out an opportunity to post a picture of beautiful women, even for the flimsiest reason, and this story is no exception.
SCENE Daily reports that Darlington Raceway officials plan to have Nextel Cup drivers' mothers be grand marshals for the Dodge Charger 500 for the second straight year.
Prior to the May 13 race, which is the night before Mother's Day, participating moms will walk across the stage and be introduced with their sons. They also give the command to start engines as a group.
"Mother's Day weekend is a time to celebrate families," Darlington Raceway President Chris Browning said. "NASCAR is frequently described as a family sport, so it just seems natural to include everyone and to create one very special weekend at Darlington Raceway. We are excited about continuing to make the Mother's Day event at Darlington a marquee weekend, and one of the most popular stops on the circuit."
