Driver and Busch Series team settle

SCENEDaily  reports that attorneys for Casey Atwood and FitzBradshaw Racing have informed a U.S. District court judge in Tennessee that they have settled their dispute out of court, according to documents filed with the court.

Terms of the settlement were not disclosed. The case was scheduled to go to trial July 25th in Nashville, Tenn.

Atwood, who drove in the Busch Series for about half of the 2003 season and most of the 2004 season for FBR had sued the team, asking for $390,000 in salary, prize money and travel expenses as well as an undetermined amount in souvenir royalties and incentive compensation.

What Busch Race in Nashville?

According to a Bob Margolis post in Yahoo Sports, there was a Busch Race in Nashville this weekend that many forgot about. The grandstands were half empty and it appeared more seats then people were watching the race.

The entire FOX crew apparently didn't show up for the race either. "The entire television broadcast looked as though Fox was doing this one on the cheap - very few replays, no pit reporter other than Hammond and no customary post wreck interviews"  Margolis says.

By the looks of it, the broadcast of today's race gave a whole new meaning to the term Busch League. For the record, Kevin Harvick won the race.

No Knauswatch

Scenedaily.com reports that  NASCAR has fined Chad Norris, crew chief of Roush Racing's No. 17 Ford driven by Matt Kenseth in the Busch Series, $10,000 and suspended him until May 3 for having a quarter panel that was too high after Saturday's O'Reily 300 at Texas Motor Speedway. (mug shot taken from the Roush website - looks like he should be holding up numbers!)

Somehow this does not have the same tone to it as the Chad Knauss suspension, so the Pit Road Post will not be conducting a Norriswatch. (and no, he's probably not related to Chuck Norris)
