Go to Charlotte & Pay for the NASCAR Hall of Fame

It is official. The Nascar Hall of Fame will be built using your money. In an 8-1 vote last nite, Mecklenburg commissioners agreed to raise the county's hotel tax to 8 percent. from the current 6 percent charge you are taxed on each hotel stay.

This increase in tax will raise the money necessary to build Nascar Shrine.

Noticeably absent from the meetings last nite was Chad Knaus out of fear he may have been manipulating the Tax increase.

Hall of Fame in Charlotte Inevitable

American Press is reporting the race is all but won for the location of the New Nascar Hall of Fame. According to sources in the story, details are being finalized before an announcement is made. Nascar of course is not tipping its hat and is saying that three cities are still in contention for the Hall of Fame.

Yah ok three cities are still in contention? That is like saying Canada was going to win the gold medal at the Olympics. It wasn't going to happen right from the beginning. Lets stop the charade and make the announcement already.

Dale Jr. Wants Hall of Fame in Charlotte

Quoted in an article on ThatsRacin.com Dale Jr. says he wants the Hall of Fame in Charlotte.

"..I am sure NASCAR is going to ask the drivers to make a few appearances over there, and I wouldn't have to go too far."

Hey who can blame the guy, he is right. As I stated before, the Hall should be in Charlotte. It makes you wonder what the "real" reason it is taking so long to make the decision.

Atlanta wants the Hall of Fame

The state of Georgia today announced increased support to the tune of an extra $5.2 million in tax breaks in hopes of securing the Nascar Hall of Fame. This is on top of the already guaranteed $92 million already guaranteed for the future Hall.

Now, I don't know what the big argument and wait is all about. The Hall belongs in one place and one place only and that place is Charlotte, NC. End of story. Get on with it.
